# Profile

Your profile is how other members of your home see you. The name and photo you set here appear wherever your identity shows up -- in member lists, activity records, and notifications.

## Getting There

Go to **Settings** > **Profile settings** in the sidebar.

## Updating Your Details

* **First Name** and **Last Name** -- Edit these fields to change the name displayed to other household members.
* **Avatar / Photo** -- Drag and drop an image or click to upload. Keep it under 2 MB and ideally 400 x 400 pixels. JPEG, JPG, and PNG formats are accepted.
* **Email Address** -- Shown for reference. To change your email, use your account provider's settings.

When you have made your changes, click **Save changes**. The button stays inactive until something is modified.

## Removing Your Photo

After uploading an avatar, a **Delete avatar** option appears. Clicking it asks for confirmation, then removes the image and returns to the default placeholder.

## Updating Your Password

Click **Change password** to open your account provider's password page in a new window. The password update happens outside Chirp.

## Deleting Your Account

At the bottom of the page, click **Delete my account**. A confirmation dialog asks if you are sure. Clicking **Yes, delete profile** submits a deletion request to the support team — you will see "Your request has been submitted." The deletion is handled by the team and does not happen immediately.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.chirpwireless.io/settings/profile-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
